Eric Kulas was an American professional wrestler who competed in the independent wrestling circuit during the late 1990s and early 2000s. He was best known for his time in the hardcore wrestling promotion, Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW).
Kulas gained notoriety in the wrestling world for his involvement in a controversial match in CZW known as the "Fire Death Match" in June 2001. In this match, Kulas suffered severe burns when his clothing caught on fire after being hit with a flaming chair.
The incident sparked debate and criticism over the safety and ethics of such extreme matches in professional wrestling. Kulas later filed a lawsuit against CZW and its owner, John Zandig, alleging negligence in the planning and execution of the match.
Eric Kulas passed away in 2002 at the age of 22. His legacy serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of extreme wrestling and the importance of prioritizing the safety and well-being of performers.
